Question by T-Mac: What toys or objects can I use to make swim lessons fun?
I have one of those torpedos and a kick board but that’s pretty much it. What other toys or objects could I use to make swimming more fun for the kids? Any memories of what you enjoyed doing most during swim lessons?

I take swim lessons during the school year. My teachers use diving rings. They throw them into whatever part of the pool (shallow or deep end) that each person wants to get them from and we take turns diving under the water to get the rings. Another thing that we sometimes do is swim with pool noodles. We play water games like marco polo too. We also sometimes swim on pool mats.

Instructions:

1. One person is chosen to be it. That person gets out of the pool.
2. They put their back to everyone then they choose a category (like ice cream flavors, numbers 1-10, car models, etc.). They then announce the category to the others.
3. Everyone else chooses something that has to do with the chosen category but does not say their chose aloud. They keep it to themselves.
4. The person that is outside the pool calls out stuff having to do with their chosen category.
5. If the outside person calls out what another person is thinking then that person has to swim away as quietly as they can.
6. If thew outside person catches them then the outside person has to go into the water and swim after whoever is trying to swim away.
7. If the outside person catches the person trying to swim away then that person is it. If not then the same person is it all over again.
